We support our clients to help them make informed decisions and concretise initiatives in the field of health care that stand the test of time.

Market Intelligence

We strive to seize the concrete opportunities that the market offers to our clients, analysing existing digital healthcare systems and identifying their most salient elements and principal success factors.

Reference scenario

We offer our clients a unique customised perspective on how they can benefit from the innovation available today. We analyse everything from macrotrends to the newest business models in order to satisfy the need for health care. Chronic illnesses, ageing populations, investments in digital health, and the evolution of health insurance contribute to forming a clear picture of the reference scenario.

Models

We offer a clear picture of the key players that operate along the health care value chain, highlighting their offers and strategic guidelines. We create business models, codifying the most relevant and successful use cases and subsequently verifying their reach on the international market.

Key players

We analyse macrotrends, the digital health initiatives implemented by both national and international players and we monitor the solutions on offer by both startups and well-established players. We also carry out a periodic mapping of the health care solutions offered by insurance companies.

Designing solutions

We design a strategy aimed at reaching the client’s objectives by intervening along the entire value chain; from the development of new products aimed at specific targets, to underwriting, pricing, and distribution themes including personal injury.
We adopt a collaborative approach with the client’s team.

Objectives

We clearly define the objectives, the opportunities or the problems to be solved. This may seem like a trivial exercise, but experience has taught us that it is not. You can aim for one or more objectives, such as the acquisition or retention of clients, the diversification of offers, the increase of touchpoints, risk mitigation or the reduction of accidents. The clarity of the objective and the sharing of such, both internally within the client’s team as well as with the partners, ensures that changes are implemented promptly and coherently.

Insight

The aim of the insight phase is to offer our client concrete opportunities for innovation and growth through the selection of startups. We choose the best options to help avoid pointless risks, capitalising on our experience to fully understand all aspects of the value offer,  including the market potential and the coherence with the client’s strategy.

Design

We facilitate the generation of ideas and the subsequent choice of the most suitable option. Where appropriate, we make use of the Design Thinking methodology. We design the potential use cases that can be adopted and model their effectiveness by also taking into account their scientific soundness, with reference to international publications. We bear in mind the expected adoption levels and the possible use of behavioural science to weigh on the choices and lifestyle of the users.

Development

Using a structured and multidisciplinary approach, we design solutions  bearing in mind the technology and the devices, whilst also taking into consideration the certifications and the evidence that scientific literature offers in favour of the proposed models. Pricing and distribution also take a central role and we likewise assess the impact that the adoption of the offered solution would have on the operating model of the client.

Selection

Consistent with the design process, we also set up a search for optimal partners for the client. The selection of health startups is a highly-specialised and structured process that involves a team with multidisciplinary areas of expertise. Our research and advisory team offer a mix of high-profile specialised skills.

Partner selection

BIME Consulting adopts a structured approach that has been perfected through experience gained in our research into health care startups.

Brief

The brief is a precious instrument that serves to define success in market research. By sharing the research, the markets, the objectives, and the contexts in which these activities need to be implemented, they can be set up in a way that minimises the potential for errors.
There are different key elements that are identified in a brief. These include the type of research, the geographical area, sample size and inclusion criteria. Aside from this, it is also important to understand the market, including information about different industrial sectors, qualifying technologies, products or services on offer, target clients, use cases, and business models. Lastly, it is important to know which businesses deal with this type of research, what development stage they are at, what kind of startup they are, who the founders are, who forms the team and what kind of environment the company operates in.

Research

Combining a large pool of sources with our qualified network allows for an in-depth examination of the market, in order to identify high-value potential startups. We do indeed draw on different sources, owned by BIME Consulting or available on the market, and then define a proprietary taxonomy dedicated to research, thus creating a designated database. The subsequent evaluation of the startups is carried out independently by a wide number of researchers. A conclusive comparison allows us to then choose who will continue to the next stage of selection.

Selection

We evaluate the suitability of startups to the client’s strategy and objectives. Some of the assessment areas include: solution readiness, the team, the target market, the type of solution, the clinical solidity, adoption scope, technologies employed and intellectual property. We then complete the picture by contacting the startups directly; the final phase is the peer review which is carried out by appraisers and advisors, in order to select the startups that will be presented to the client.

Hiring

The startups selected in the previous phase then embark on an initial discussion with the client through a pitching stage and a Q&A session for a more in-depth analysis. A workshop is then set up with the client’s team during which their feedback on the various startups is given in order to shortlist 2-5 candidates, to then design a collaboration format between them and the client.
